1.2 User-Generated Content
When you use our app to contribute water points or provide feedback, we may collect:
- Photos of water points you upload
- Location data (latitude and longitude) of water points
- Descriptions and ratings you provide for water points
- Your email address (optional, for support purposes)
- Any additional information you submit through the app
1.3 User ID
When you use our Software and Services, we automatically generate an anonymous internal user ID (which does not personally identify you) that is assigned to your use of our Software and Services. This User ID may be combined with any of the above information for service improvement purposes.
1.4 Personal Identification Information
We have no intention to collect any personal identification information ("PII") except for the optional email address provided during water point uploads and user support. However, there may be errors during the data collection process that could contain PII. We will regularly check and update our systems to identify and remove any unwanted information collected unintentionally.
2. Information We Share with Third Parties
We use Google Maps SDK in our app, and we may share information with third parties (including Google Inc.) under the following circumstances:
- Legal Requirements: We are required by laws to disclose your information.
- Business Transitions: The team experiences combination, acquisition, change of control power of other companies, or other business transitions.
- Service Providers: We may share your information with certain third-party companies, such as map services and cloud storage providers, and we will require such third parties to:
- Guarantee the security of data
- Never use the data for purposes other than providing services to us
- Use the data only according to our privacy policy
In any case other than the above, without your prior consent, we will not share your personal identity information with third parties.
3. Third-Party Content and Services
While using our software and services, certain third parties may enable you to provide content to them in the form of map services, navigation apps, and other integrated services. We consider these as third-party contents and services, which are subject to their respective privacy policies.
We do not review and cannot guarantee such third-party contents and services. 4. Information Security and Data Rights
We are committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
4.1 Data Retention
We will only keep your personal information for as long as necessary and in any event in relation to personal information collected by us through the Software and Services. We will keep the information we collect in accordance with this Privacy Policy to achieve our business and/or operational purposes or to comply with legal requirements.
4.2 Security Measures
We have implemented safeguard procedures to protect your information according to industry standards, and we have restricted access to your information on our servers, which are under encryption protection.
4.3 Data Deletion
After you uninstall our software or stop using our services, we will delete all your data within three months. If you clear your data through internal software clicks, we will immediately delete your locally saved data and delete all your data on the server within one month. Water point data contributed by users will be retained for the benefit of the community, but will be anonymized to remove any personal identifiers.
4.4 European Users' Rights
If you are a user in Europe, you have the right to (subject to a limited number of exceptions):
- Request access to and rectification or erasure of your personal information
- Obtain restriction of processing or to object to processing of your personal information
- Ask for a copy of your personal information to be provided to you, or a third party, in a digital format

5. International Transfers
If you are located in the EEA, personal information collected from you via our Software and Services may be transferred to recipients in countries located outside the EEA which do not provide a similar or adequate level of protection to that provided by countries in the EEA. You hereby expressly consent to the transfer of your personal information to recipients, as described in this Privacy Policy, which are located outside the EEA.
6. Children's Privacy
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We do not intend to collect any personal identification information of children under the age of sixteen (16), but there may be errors during the process of collection of data.
If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should promptly contact us, and we will take action to ensure that such information is deleted from our server.
7. Disclaimer of Information Accuracy
All water point information provided through our app is sourced from user contributions and community submissions. Water point information may change frequently due to various factors including but not limited to:
- Changes in facility operating hours or availability
- Maintenance or temporary closures
- Changes in water quality or safety conditions
- Removal or relocation of water dispensers
- Updates to facility policies or access restrictions
While we strive to maintain accurate and up-to-date information, we cannot guarantee that the water point information provided through our app is complete, current, or reliable. We do not assume any legal responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the content we provide.
Users should exercise their own judgment and discretion when using water points, and we recommend verifying information independently before relying on it for any purpose.
8. Usage Conduct and Intellectual Property
We pay close attention to our intellectual property protection. All content, images, design, graphics, text, logos, buttons, interfaces, icons, audio and video clips, and the selection and arrangements of our Software and Services are our exclusive property and are protected by the Berne Convention, international copyright laws, and other applicable laws and regulations.
8.1 User-Generated Content License
By uploading water point photos and information through our app, you grant ThirstyGo team a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content in any media format and through any media channels. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Displaying water point information and photos within the app
- Using content for promotional and marketing purposes
- Sharing content on social media platforms
- Including content in research, reports, or publications
- Modifying or adapting content for different platforms or formats
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to grant this license for all content you upload.
You agree to use our Software and Services only for lawful purposes. When contributing water points, you must ensure that you have the right to share the information and photos. We may, without incurring any liability to you, terminate access by you or suspend any access to all or part of our Software and Services, without notice, for any conduct that we, in our sole discretion, believe is in violation of any applicable law or this privacy policy, or is harmful to the interests of another user, a third-party, a sponsor, a licensor, a service provider, or a merchant.
